PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
1997-Present:Freelance and Contract Writer for a variety of print and online publications (see list at left). 2007-Present: Blogger - WriteAway! - Blog about travel and lifestyle-oriented subjects including local travel, food, eco-friendly alternatives as well as life as a writer. I am regularly approached by industry professionals to run guest posts, write about their destination or host ads. In 2007, my blog was added to TravelBlogs.com, a site featuring the web's best travel blogs. I have also been interviewed about travel writing and blogging on Travelblogs and Matador.
2004-2008: Regular Contributor to Central Ontario Magazines (Simcoe Life, Simcoe Business, Central Ontario Interiors) - Wrote profiles of noted business people and regional companies, home interiors pieces, food columns, artist profiles, articles about local activities, trends pieces and more. September 1997-March 1999: Contract Writer. Composed a radio play for the Art Gallery of Peterborough that was recorded and played for rotating audiences in the Fall of 1997. Traveled to Mexico to research and write about the now-deceased Canadian photographer Reva Brooks.

February 2003-January 2004: Volunteer editor and writer for the Kempenfelt Undercurrent, Barrie, Ontario. Collaborated with a team to create this free monthly community newspaper. April 2001-October 2002: Volunteer editor, writer and photographer for the Annex Echo, a free community newspaper, Toronto, Ontario.
